Borrowing system
The NUB library is organized and maintained mainly to serve the students, faculty, and staff members of NUB. To avail the library facilities, the students must register themselves as library member by paying Tk. 100.00 as membership fee. Faculty and staff members will also register themselves (without paying membership fee) to borrow library materials.
Library members are entitled to borrow books, journals and other reading materials from the library for their own use. Library materials cannot be borrowed on behalf of others.
- The students may borrow maximum 4 books (if available) at a time for 15 (fifteen) days.
- Course related text books marked with ‘REF’ may be borrowed only for few hours and all other reference books are reserved for use inside the library.
- The faculty members may borrow maximum 3 (three) books per course or maximum 10 books for one semester.
- Any NUB staff member may borrow maximum 2 (Two) books for 15 days.
- The loan period for borrowed items may be extended for next 15 (fifteen) days, if there is no outstanding request for that item by any other users.
- Borrowers are responsible for the safe keeping and return in good condition of all library materials issued to them.
- Fines are assessed to encourage the prompt return of materials. Fine will be imposed @ Tk. 5.00 (Taka five only) for per book for each day up to 15 (fifteen) days, and after 15 days the fine will be raised @ Tk. 10.00 (Taka ten only) per book for each day, if any borrower (students / faculty / staff members) fails to return the book(s) within due date.
