The department started offering a Master degree program titled ‘Master in Governance Studies’ from Fall-2008. This is an important milestone of NUB’s academic innovativeness and its response to the demands of the society and economy. NUB has gained valuable experience in administering educational programs in governance studies; this university in collaboration with Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy (BCSAA), Shahbagh, Dhaka has successfully organized diploma-level programs (three groups of graduates have already passed out) for mid-level government officers. The solid experience gathered from administering (jointly with BCSAA) an academic program on governance studies has prompted NUB to launch a Master program in this field. This program is designed to educate top-level students, professionals, executives in all sectors i.e. public, private and NGOs. The approach followed in the education program of MGS is multidisciplinary, international knowledge-based and practice-oriented in relevant fields of development. For this purpose, the Department of Governance Studies cooperates with similar universities, institutions and decision-makers all over the country as well as institutions outside Bangladesh. The Department of Governance Studies is endowed with eminent faculty-members trained at home and abroad.
