Mr. ABM Rashedul Hassan, Treasurer, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Aqtedar Ahmed Siddiqui, Registrar spoke as special guest while  Prof. Saeed Alamgir Jafar, Dean, Faculty of Business of NUB chaired the program. Mr. Lutfor Rahman, Coordinator, BBA program gave inaugural speech in the orientation program.

Prof. Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah welcomed and called upon the newcomers to read attentively and said that, you must have to be selfish in the aspect of education. He highly hoped that the Business Faculty of NUB would be the most quality faculty among the present Private Universities of Bangladesh within 2 or 3 years and we are working with the aim of that, he added. In this regard, we are proud to rearrange the Faculty of Business by Prof. G. M. Chowdhury, Director, IBA, Dhaka University as Advisor, Prof. Saeed Alamgir Jafor, One of the distinguished teachers of IBA, Dhaka University as Dean, Mr. William H. Drerrenger as Associate Dean and other high profiled teachers with Ph.D. We are going to start building work of our permanent campus within 2 or 3 months, he mentioned.

Prof. Saeed Alamgir Jafar said to the new students that, they should try to do the right things in right reason and control the processes of education to achieve good result. The entire students should maintain balance in their life for better career, he added.

Among others, William H. Derrenger, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business, Dr. Kazi Shahadat Kabir, Head of the Dept. of Development and Governance Studies, Prof. Mustafa Kamal, Prof. Mahmudul Alam, Associate Prof. Sajjadul Karim and Mr. Faizullah Kawshik, Coordinator of Business Campus were also present in the program.

Syed Sarfaraj Hamid, Head, Dept. of Law delivered inaugural speech while Prof. A.W.M. Abdul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Law chaired the program. Among others, , Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Aqtedar Ahmed Siddiqui, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering of NUB were also present in the ceremony.

Barrister Shafique Ahmed welcomed the students on NUB who completed their graduation and post-graduation and said that, Legal Profession is a noble profession. So as a lawyer everybody should perform with efficiency and dignity, and they should follow the guidance of their own institutions.

Prof. Dr. A.Y.M. Abdullah thanked the students and said that all relationship between students and institution cannot end with the ending of academic education; moreover your association with NUB will be started from today. If we consider University is a factory the students are the product of University.  And NUB will be known by your performance because are the brand ambassador of this University.

The program was ended with fabulous cultural event was performed by the student who completed their graduation and post-graduation and a Dinner party.

Northern University Bangladesh and BCS Administration Academy jointly inaugurated the course of ‘Master in Public Policy and Management’ (MPPM). An ‘Inaugural Ceremony’ was arranged at BCS Administration Academy Auditorium on 02 May, 2012. Mr. Abdus Sobhan Sikdar, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration inaugurated the course as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah, Chairman, Northern University Bangladesh Trust and Prof. Dr. M. Shamsul Haque, Vice-chancellor, Northern University Bangladesh were special guests in the program. Mr. Sayed Ahsanul Haque, Program Director, BCS Administration Academy gave inaugural speech while Mr. Shafique Alam Mehdi, Director General of BCSAA chaired the ceremony.

Chief Guest Mr. Abdus Sobhan Sikdar said that ‘Building public-private partnership is one of the most important election commitments of present government’ and by the inauguration of the course of Master in Public Policy and Management (MPPM) government has stepped forward to fulfill their commitments.’ Present government believes in effective change and Civil Service should play a vital role in this aspect, he added. He called upon the Bangladesh Civil Service for taking important part by their knowledge, efficiency and dignity to all the development of Bangladesh.

Special guest Prof. Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah said that, Civil Servants are a very vital part of any state and a modern state mechanism. Civil servants are the seam which keeps the system together. The efficiency and flexibility of the state engine is directly dependent on performance of civil servants. He thanked to the BCSAA for choosing Northern University for higher education.

Prof. Dr. M. Shamsul Haque pointed out several important public policies and said that these policies are valuable for the mass people of a country. He also thanked BCSAA for giving opportunity to Northern University to take part to implement public policy in Bangladesh.

Mr. Shafique Alam Mehdi in his speech said that, Education is a continues process and life itself is an important field of education but to acquire proper education needs a quality institution. Northern University Bangladesh is one of the Institutions of Bangladesh which is providing quality education. He thanked the government to cooperate for opening the course.

Dr. Kazi Shahadat Kabir, Head, Dept. of Development and Governance Studies gave inaugural speech in the reunion while Mr. Abdul Matin, Sr. Asst. Registrar conducted the program. Mr. Saiful Alam Munir Coodinator and Deputy Registrar was also present on the occasion.

Chief Guest Mr. Shafique Alam Mehdi said that Education is a continues process and it’s need a quality institution. Mentioning that, Northern University Bangladesh is one of the Institutions of Bangladesh which is providing quality education, he called upon NUB to provide present quality education to fulfill the necessity of our country.

Special guest Prof. Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah said that, Civil Servants are a very vital part of any state and a modern state mechanism. Civil servants are the seam which keeps the system together. The efficiency and flexibility of the state engine is directly dependent on performance of civil servants. As a keen reader of governance theories I have seen how important it is for any governance system that the civil servants carry on their responsibilities.

He said, the world is a global village and entrepreneurs are vital fact of any country to gear up the economy and to create place of work. In this aspect, the responsibilities of Bureaucracy are huge. So he called upon the civil servants to support all entrepreneurs of Bangladesh. Special guest added, though our civil servants are the most powerful and meritorious but they have been trapped under colonial mindset and It is unfortunate that bureaucratic red tape and corruption are the vital black issues of our civil servants. So he called upon the NUB Alumni BSC officers to break this view and to build up our country with their efficiency, merit and knowledge.

Prof. Dr. M. Shamsul Haque said that, NUB is providing quality education from very beginning and called upon the alumni to act as an ambassador of the university.

The program ended with a fabulous cultural event, distribution of gift items and sumptuous dinner.

Among others, Prof. Sher Mohammad, Head, Dept. of English, Ms. Mafruha Ferdous and Mr. Ohidur Rahman, Asst. Prof., Dept. of English also spoke on the occasion.

Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Sadruddin Ahmed thanked the students for arranging such a class party which may be a source of inspiration for other students.

Some students also expressed their feelings about their passing year at NUB. The program was ended by cutting a cake and distributing refreshment.
