Rajshahi Campus of Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) arranged a seminar on ‘Higher Education: The Role of NUB’ at Nawgaon District on January 10, 2012. The note was presented by M. Mosarrof Hossain Masud, Coordinator, Rajshahi Campu of NUB. Prof. Dr. AFM Mohsin, In-charge, Dept. of Law, Rajshahi Campus, Prof. M. Zahurul Islam, Advisor, Dept. of English, Prof. Dr. M. Amzad Hossain, In-charge, Dept. of Business Administration of Rajshahi Campus of NUB and Prof. Martuza Reza, Principal, Astana Mollah Degree College were the discussant in the seminar.
Discussant of seminar said that, quality of education and percentage of educated person are increasing for taking various initiatives in education sector by the government, like mandatory primary education, offering free books, protect coping in examinations and so on. But collaboration of higher education sector is not expanded accordingly. In this aspect, private universities are playing an effective role for the suffering students for their basic need in education.
Speakers added that, inspite of unethical activities of some private universities a major number of universities are providing quality education and taking an important part to generate efficient people for the country. Northern University Bangladesh is one of the prominent private Universities in Bangladesh which is promised to provide quality education for building the nation. At the end of the program speaker advised the students not to fear because they will be welcomed to any qualified private university for completing higher education and becoming a resourceful person for the country.
