The vision of NUB is in brief could be stated as "Think globally and act locally". The mission of NUB is to offer such programs of study and related functions as will be directly linked to socio-economic improvement of the people of the county. It has the scope of imparting quality education in several branches of science and technology.

The faculty of science, NUB at present consists of four very important departments, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) , Electrical and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Textile Engineering (TXE). This faculty is also taking care of the department of pharmacy, department of public health and proposed civil engineering. Most of these departments are offering four year B.Sc degrees and some are also offering post graduates degrees.

In this age of globalization there is no alternative but to adopt the science and technology for the development of a country. Bangladesh being a poor country with large population and poor economy should turn its attention towards the developments of science education. The science faculty of NUB is always committed to ensure quality education with a unique academic environment combining modern technologies and facilities with experienced faculty members .Students graduated from this university are well placed in the society by this time which indicates its high standard of education system. We should remember that although the science education is expensive but it pays in the long run. With this end in view the faculty of science here at NUB is ready to contribute for the overall development of the country with the tools and techniques of science. So we look forward to have the cooperation and participation of all concerned towards the achievement of our ultimate goal. We wish all the best for the growth and development of the science faculty of Northern University.
