Northern University Bangladesh is governed by the Bangladesh Private University Act 1992 and as Amended in 1998 and 2010. NUB is the first of its kind in Bangladesh to be managed by a group of academics. The chief executive of NUB is the Vice-Chancellor, who is assisted by a Syndicate, Academic Council, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar and Officers of NUB as per statute & provisions of the University. As a founding body of NUB, the IBAT Trust has a reasonable representation in policy making body of the University namely in the Syndicate and in the Academic Council. The Syndicate is the highest policy making body of Northern University Bangladesh. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chairperson and others are the members of the Syndicate.
